HalfSumo - Yurei Competition Jiu-Jitsu Belts

Competitions are already stressful as is, and all these additional rules on what one can wear, what color, what weight, what length etc, are just adding another layer of worry that diverts the competitors focus from the real task ahead: winning the match!

HalfSumo's solutios is to develope a stress free IBJJF compliant belt, that you can tie to your waist and know even the most annoying GI/BELT checker won’t have anything to complain about!

Following all the last IBJJF regulations for the 2025 season they have created the  new“Yurei” Halfsumo belt to aid you in your quest for gold.

Simple & traditional Jiu-Jitsu belt fabric and construction, with just a tad bit more sturdiness so it doesn’t become too flimsy and easy to grab by your opponents pesky grips. 

They have added a simple debossed leather like patch with their signature Oni to add a bit of that Halfsumo style without breaking any IBJJF rules.

They made the size label of the belt a tear-away one, so if you prefer a cleaner look, you can easily remove it without damaging the belt etc.

And if all these details weren't enough, they have included not one, but two specially designed Half Sumo elastic velcro ties (with the writing NAO PARA aka NEVER STOP! on them)  which can be used to keep the belt neatly folded when stored in your bag, but most importantly wrapped around the knot while training, it will keep it tied around your waist even during the hardest and most intense sparring. Worm guard players beware ;)

Last but not least all belts come in a very useful mesh fabric pouch that can be easily snapped on  either your Gi bag or your backpack. Gone are the days when the belt is put in the same bag as a sweaty GI, and it doesn’t have a chance to dry and grows mold. Just put it back in the ventilated pouch, snap it on your backpack, and it will easily little by little release any stored moisture.
